Fireflies

Fingers, rough ridden with ridges
From mending the broken ones
The hollows of your eyes grow bigger
Fending off the gruff world

But first let your fingers be soothed
Mend your own pieces
Smooth out the ravines in the corners of those eyes
Etched by the ceaseless tears

Awake, until the dawn break
Rest that back a moment
Broken spine and broken vigor
Sewn poorly and poorly kept

You have to save the damaged again
All night while the oils burn bright
Take them to the light
Follow the fireflies
