ACCUSED

A lot of times, it happens
I miss the signs
that glare right into my eyes
And then they vanish.

Accosting the risks i am,
But the will to fight is absent
The mental struggle is enervating
Even when the outcome is irrelevant.

Indolent is my spirit
And mind complacent with my prerogatives,is what they say
Nature castigates me
For the wrongs that I often do not instigate.

It is claimed,self-deterioration is the result
Of my decaying intellect.
My deeds are accused of cowardice
And existence defamed on the grounds of self neglect.

Circumstances,I do not blame
Its only my wounded conscience I m trying to exonerate
I wont surrender to the soldiers of time
And so,my accused life,I shall resurrect.

FOR YOU

A gentle breeze of the autumn
A mind so calm and serene
Words falling from her mouth like pearls
An enigma or a dream?

She stands by the corner
And silently looks at the noisy world
When asked for an answer
She comes out of her reverie, puzzled

Her temper, an icy fire
Her tears so true and pure
To call her an angel, would i dare?
Or a spell wisely conjured!

When i go through the fiery nights
Of remorse and doubt
She comes to my rescue with her divine light
Making her presence announced

she stands by me like a pillar
Of that silent strength
Which assures my scared heart
That she is there and then,

She expresses through her eyes
'till death do us part'
We shall be what the world is envious of,
Friends and soul mates
Belonging to the rarest, the divine class.

For i may not know,
How else to suggest
That you mean a world to me
And meaningless is the rest,

Of the world, full of false dreams
So i write this for you
To tell you how much you mean,
To me, forever,always and through
the journey of this life.
I may understand certain nuances
of this mystery.

Of i met you by achance
and now I am here living in peace
Cherishing every second of your heavenly presence
That even in my absence;

You shall understand,
That i treasure you in my heart,
Like all those unsung songs,
I decorate with lyrics
Like that butterfly i chase
And instead find you in all those hints;
Of the confusing trick that this world plays.
As you glow like a halo
in the whites, blacks and greys.

I have done what i wanted to,
Give this to you which is truly for you.

Paint Me A Picture

Take some colours from my eyes
And a few thoughts from my mind,
Make a brush out of the lines in my hand,
And paint me a picture.

Throw some hues of happiness
And a few long strokes of imagination
Encroach my soul to find my portrait
And paint me a picture.

Draw my dreams on my heart
Sketch my life with your true thoughts
Sprinkle on it a few of my feelings
And paint me a picture.

Capture all of the ecstatic moments
Also shade my translucent tears
Use my essence to liven it
And paint me a picture.

Give it life with my breath
Enlighten it with a face
Fill it up with the music of my heart beats.
Liberate me you will,
When you paint me a picture.

Tell Me

Tell me if you want to be loved,
Tell me if you are lonely.
Tell me all that is there in your mind,
Tell me, even if I am the one and only.

Left to walk this earth
When humanity looms in dearth
When meanings lose importance
When words do not make any sense.

When you cradle in restlessness
Tell me if your dreams have become dark.

When life is not just dubious
But plays games with you,
When no help is rendered from your conscience
Tell me if your soul has decayed through and through.

When decisions are hard to arrive at,
When your thoughts are misunderstood,
If everything you had is lost,
Hold your shaking hand, I would.

I shall not make an eternal promise
To get you ashore
But if you believe in me, even if less;
I shall kiss the tips of your fingers to reassure.
To show you the silver light in the dark clouds
And make you smile some more.

Spring

Spring, Oh spring you are the season's king
When my heart plays and sings
And the colours of the rainbows look more distinct
Filling me up with joy and taking over my instincts.

Love in the air, so lovely and pure
It is the effect of spring for sure
Butterflies fluttering over every flower
The naughty downpour, when you shower.

Earth is full of yellows, greens and pink
Gushing water, when the soil drinks.
Producing the refreshing fragrances,
After its mighty thirst quenches.

This is when I pine for you the most
Mind distracted and heart flutters
Waiting for the footsteps by the candle-light
Draped in the purest white.

Eyes and ears on the window,
The night crawls at a pace so slow
A rose and a lily in my hand,
Time slipping away like sand.

Come just once and you will see,
A smile brightest ever and me.
I wait and wait for you in the spring,
My prince get me a song or a ring.

A ring full of true promises
An embrace of your arms my heart misses
With the moon ablaze and the death of the sun,
Tell me my love, if you will come?

If you wish, I shall wait forever
In all the springs, summers and winters.
But, the same song my heart will sing
Longing for you in the next spring.

Crossing the oceans, you'll receive my songs
A mere presence, my heart longs
If you do not get them or my ring,
At least, at your doorstep, there'll be this beautiful spring.

It shall remind you of me, year after year,
And I will reside in your heart forever.

In A Day's Work

The wrinkles of the bedspread
The softness of the pillows
Singing of the cuckoo bird
Far away in a willow.

The morning awakens lazily
With the night's dreams, still in the eyes
When the night recedes to a mere point
I am awoken with a smile.

Bringing with it, the brimming hope
In a cup of tea,
The brightness of the rest of the day
Mixed as the sugar in it.

The day ripens, filled with the promises
And the world starts to ripple
I wonder how the evening would be
Hopefully as beautiful as the rainbow colours.

The sun shines with all its might
And the ocean tide rises,
People moving in a frenzy,
The sweat of hardwork glistens.

Alas, the wonderful day ends
And with it, arrives the night
Black yet full of colours
A fitting end to a day, so nice, so right.

Again the same bedspread,
And the dreams hopeful of entering my eyes
To take me to an amazing world
Where another day would raise its blinds.

Retrospection

A moment filled with an eternity,
A heart filled with memories
Some forgettable and some too difficult to let go,
Very essential to be buried though.

Would it make my existence any more worthwhile?
Would it, to my face bring a smile?
Would it matter to anyone?
If I become just no one.
If I fade away from someone's memories
Would it hurt if I try?

But those moments teach me how to grow.
To be a better person, I was never before.
To look into the perspective,
And respect all that I have.
Ceratin bonds made special over the years
And some tears, cried together;
Smiles that were shared and the pain too
Words unspoken, yet so true.

A precious prize, yes, that is my present
A lesson god send.
I know now, of a love so selfless
'Cos I chose a road less travelled
I cherish the joy and forget the agony
Inflicted, in my past, by many.
I'd like to tell the ever merciless time
Now I guess i do love my life.
